First privately-run screening-for-student company sets up in China

China's first privately-run, provincial-level movie service on campus tailored for primary and high school students has recently set up in Puyang City, central China's Henan Province, company officials confirmed on Monday.
Dubbed Henan Era School Education Film Company, the company was jointly established by a private company, Puyang Era Film/TV Culture Co., Ltd., and the state-controlled China Film Group, the country's dominant film producer.
Based in Puyang, an oil and petrochemical production center some 600 kilometers south of Beijing, the company was the first privately-run, provincial-level film broadcasting company, confirmed the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
Liu Xiuliang, chairman of Puyang Era Film and TV Cultural Company, said many schools have spent a lot of time and energy on organizing their students to watch movies off campus. But the newly-founded company would provide schools with film projection equipment or mobile cinema services, so that students could watch movies on campus.
Liu said even before its establishment, the company has joined hands with over 40 schools in providing film services on campus and more than 50,000 students had benefited from such services.
